I have to admit I am getting so excited on many fronts at the moment, first off training is going really well. I have to admit it is very hard to move up from being a sprinter for virtually all my life to now running 10k's and half Marathons, I must be crazy. It has been a hard couple of years making the move, but if I did not then running would not be as much fun, because now that I am a vet, running with friends is more important, but knowing I have some basic speed does help.
Saying that who devised 1k reps on the track, boy do I hate them!
Monday just gone I managed to finish the San Anton 9.6k in Jean, which as races go I can say it was the best race I have ever done in my life. Would you believe it was fee to enter, it was an evening race and was supported by thousands of spectators along the whole route, I have never experienced anything like it in my life. The only issue is that many were holding flaming candles, which if you were not careful would alight your hair, well what little I have left lol
So this Sunday I managed to do the long run (18k) to set me up for the half Marathon in Almeria which I have to admit I am looking forward to, mainly as I am running well but secondly I will see my Aunt and Uncle at the weekend too.
On top of this the running sunglasses are now being manufactured with my logo and have recently agreed terms with a shoe manufacturer, so my dream is becoming reality.
